The Jumper Creek Ranch

Our Story

Welcome to the Jumper Creek Ranch, a place where family values and a deep-rooted legacy come together to create something truly special. Our story begins with a tale of devotion that spans generations, woven into the very fabric of this ranch.

Picture this: The year is 1952, and Jumper Creek Ranch becomes an integral part of our family's identity. The matriarch of our clan, Mrs. Anne Fields, left her mark in Bushnell, Florida, arriving as the county's first nurse in 1944. The journey to this point had its humble beginnings when her oldest son, Michael, fervently asked for a pig as a 4H project. Amidst their modest downtown home, Anne Fields couldn't resist the fire of passion in her son's eyes. Before long, they exchanged their small house for ten acres off Highway 301, a move that ignited the expansion of our ranch. In those days, the region retained its rustic charm, and Anne Fields took it upon herself to uplift sanitary standards, ushering in outhouses and vaccinations for the community.

In 2006, Anne Fields left us, but her indomitable spirit lives on. A portion of highway 470 now carries her name, a tribute to her monumental impact on every child and family in the county.

Through the years, our ranch grew to span 133 acres, the backdrop to Michael's pursuit of education – the very pig for a 4H project that started it all. With determination, both Michael and his brother Phillip tread the academic path, earning doctorate degrees from the University of Florida and Texas A&M. While mastering their studies, they never wavered in their commitment to the ranch, nurturing animals and cultivating the land.

Today, this land flourishes as a small-scale beef cattle operation, housing around 100 cherished cows and their calves. Dr. Michael Fields' teachings in Animal Science at the University of Florida, specializing in the physiology of reproduction, reflect his unwavering dedication. Dr. Phillip Fields, on the other hand, continues to enlighten young minds about anatomy at the University of South Alabama medical school, following his mother’s passion in health care.

But our family extends beyond bloodlines. Dr. Margaret Fields, Michael's wife, joined the journey, and the next generation – Gregory, Corey, and Katie, along with their families – rallied to the cause. Together, we formed a team that encapsulates the spirit of The Crown at Jumper Creek Ranch, where every corner holds echoes of our history and heart.

So come, be a part of our narrative, where family, heritage, and a love for the land converge in a symphony of warmth and authenticity.
